frequently asked questions

  • I can tell you first and foremost I love all people. I love no matter who you love, where you come from, or what you believe. Love is love is love. You are welcome here.

  • Engagement/boudoir/maternity sessions include an online gallery of 50+ images in a full resolution, online gallery. Hair & Make up referrals are available, but a separate vendor fee applies.

Weddings/Elopements are customizable to your specific event, however I am a full day photographer and cover the entire day no matter what.

  • Yes, YES, YEEESSS! I love destination weddings and have literally climbed miles to the top of a mountain and laid in many bodies of water for my couples. I have a current passport and can shoot anywhere.

*Travel and lodging fees are separate from the package price.

  • I understand seeing the total number upfront seems exponential. However, I do offer payment plans after the initial deposit is made. And if you break down the price of your package and prep/editing time it works out to anywhere from $10-$15 an hour.

Also, photographers require a lot of gear to shoot a wedding including SD cards, lenses, equipment maintenance, external lighting, software, travel cases, insurance, licensing fees, vehicle maintenance for commuting to and from events, rental equipment for special circumstances to obtain the perfect shot, etc.

We also attend continuing education, purchase educational literature, memberships to education hubs, dark room development rentals (I shoot film as well), we purchase client gifts, and we have printing costs.

We aren’t people who just stand there and press a button. Anyone can do that. But that’s not why you’re looking into a professional photographer. You want someone who is capable, confident and educated in the craft that will ensure that you will be delivered a final product that you are pleased with.

  • 50% of the total amount is due upfront to secure your date. This ensures that your event date cannot be booked with anyone else, but also secures income for me in the future. I split the payments so I can have a continuous source of income throughout the year. I want to be able to devote all my time to your photos, but I also need to ensure my profit margins are protected just in case a client doesn’t show up for their session or a wedding is canceled after holding the date for months at a time. This has happened to me before and losing income is hard for a one woman show. Cancelation and rescheduling terms are listed in my contract and are very straightforward.

  • This is common. But I am knowledgable in prompts and poses that will bring out true emotion. I have a very open, bold and bubbly personality and will loosen you up so you feel confident in yourself and in my ability to make you look damn good!

  • Yes and I am VERY particular about who is assisting me the day of. I have a list of photographers I have worked with and trust. I am confident in their ability and will not bring an assistant along that is untrained or unable to properly assist me for the day.

  • If this was the case (which it never has been), I will send my second shooter in my place and still edit the RAW images I receive.

If you have booked a regular session, rescheduling is easy and can be harder to send an assistant in my place because hourly sessions don’t usually come with a second shooter.

No extra fees are applied to the total cost if I cannot provide services day of or have to have someone else show up in my place.

  • I shoot with multiple SD cards at once. The likelihood of both of them going out at the same time is EXTREMELY rare, but even in that case I travel with backups.

I use more than one camera body just in case my main camera is damaged or malfunctions.

After your shoot is complete, I transfer the RAW images onto two separate hard drives, a flash drive, and do not delete photos off of your session’s SD cards until the final product has been exported, uploaded and delivered.

  • Turn around time for an hourly session is 4-6 weeks.

Weddings and Elopement delivery time is 6-8 except during the fall. Then delivery time increases to 8-12.

Editing includes culling photos (deleting unusable frames from your gallery), color curve correction, skin retouching, removing distractions from the frame, hand brushing/painting certain attributes, and ensuring the photo is properly exposed and represents my specific artistic style.

The reason for an increase in turn around time in the fall is because it is the BUSIEST time for photographers. Sometimes booking double weddings in a weekend. Especially in Oklahoma, which is where I’m based. Spring in Oklahoma is tornado season, summer is hotter than the deepest circle of hell, and fall weather is a gift from the universe herself. Everyone gets married in the fall and that means my workload skyrockets. I only have two hands and two eyes; although I hope one day science provides me with more options.
