Devree & John: Oklahoma city, ok-plenty Mercantile

A tender moment between a bride and groom, their foreheads gently touching, as they embrace each other in front of a beautifully illuminated window, basking in the soft natural light.

Devree and John's wedding in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was a beautiful celebration filled with handmade decor and details. The happy couple chose the eclectic storefront/hidden venue Plenty Mercantile on Broadway as their venue, which perfectly complemented their rustic yet elegant theme. As the bride is a classical cellist and the groom is a clarinetist in the US Army Band, it came as no surprise that their wedding music was absolutely enchanting. On the whole, Devree and John's wedding is a perfect example of how the smallest of details can make all the difference in creating a memorable wedding.

Devree’s bridal portraits in the Bride’s quarters as she approached her first look in the main ceremony hall are a perfect representation of their artistic nature as a couple. As she approached John you could see how excited he was to see Devree before their vows.

But not only did we do a first look before the ceremony (which saves so much time later on), we did a first look with their friends. Which filled the room with laughter, tears and AWE! This made the timeline transition seamless to wedding party photos as well. I always recommend a first look and then going into wedding party photos pre-ceremony. It saves you so much time when you’re ready to party and enjoy your reception. The more you tack on after the ceremony the last time you have sippin on gin and juice while you roll out on the dance floor.

The ceremony took place in the main room at Plenty Mercantile which is located behind a GORGEOUS shop. You almost don’t even know it’s there until you’re on the hunt for your wedding venue. Once you pass through the doors behind the registers, a beautiful rustic warehouse space with a rooftop event space opens up and the possibilities for you ceremony become endless. Their space was decorated with cascading greenery, string lights, and beautiful wooden chairs that set the perfect setting for my camera. The bride and groom shared their vows and also did a hand fasting ceremony. Handfasting is an ancient Celtic ritual in which the hands are tied together to symbolize the binding of two lives.
