Shardai & Alex: tulsa garden center

Love stories have a unique way of weaving together, creating a tapestry of beautiful memories. And on a fall day in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Alex and Shardai, embarked on their for as they said "I do" amidst the charming beauty of The Tulsa Garden Center. This couple has been and probably will be the most sentimental couple I have ever photographed. They were my first word of mouth clients, I photographed their engagement (twice), their wedding, and now their maternity photos. Their wedding was a celebration of love, family, and the role Alex stepped into as Brielle’s step father. Perfectly encapsulating the essence of their profound bond.

Men, TAKE NOTES! Alex's connection with Shardai during the ceremony was electric! As soon as their eyes met, it was like the entire crowd was waiting in suspense because they KNEW Alex and Shardai had been waiting for this moment and were SO EXCITED. It was like they were two halves of a whole, coming together to create something unstoppable. You could feel the buzz in the air as they spoke their vows, both of them radiating a fierce love for each other. And when they finally kissed, it was like the whole world stopped just for them. Shardai's dress was a total showstopper, but it was her connection with Alex that stole the show. It was the kind of moment that gives you chills and makes you believe in love all over again. Alex kept staring at Shardai like he was thinking, “Damn. That’s my wife!” and we all instantly became mad at our partners because nobody has ever had such a true reaction to their partner.

Alex and Shardai celebrated a unique and beautiful union when they said their vows to their daughter Brielle on their wedding day. Brielle was overwhelmed with emotion as she witnessed Alex step into a fatherly role in her life. It was heartwarming to see Brielle's reaction as Alex promised to love and care for her as his own. This touching moment highlights the importance of blended families and how they can bring so much happiness and love to each other's lives. This wedding and this particular part of the ceremony was so vivid and emotional for me because Shardai and I share very similar backgrounds as single mothers who married the loves of their life. Witnessing someone else experience the love and devotion of this moment, fully knowing how important and significant it is to a mother almost made it impossible to see through the viewfinder of my canon. I had to wipe my eyes multiple times in order to see; it was that moving.

Photographing a romantic couple like Shardai and Alex during sunset is a dream come true for any photographer looking to capture stunning imagery. As the golden hour approaches, the warm glow of the sun cascading over them creates a magical ambiance that any camera lens would capture beautifully. BUT LET’S NOT FORGET THEIR AWESOME WEDDING PARTY….

AND THEN WE ALL BROKE IT DOWN ON THE DANCE FLOOR
